This simple addition supports a more complete, nutrient-dense bowl without disrupting your cat’s routine.
At Marine Vitality, every batch of our Jervis Bay Mussel Powder is supported by independent analysis and industry recognised quality standards. Our approach is simple. If we claim it, we can verify it.
Independent Laboratory Analysis
Our mussels undergo detailed laboratory testing to confirm their nutrient profile, including protein levels, omega 3 composition and phospholipid content. This testing verifies the high levels of EPA, DHA and phospholipid bound omega 3s that set Jervis Bay Blue Mussels apart from standard mussel powders, including Green Lipped Mussel.
Phospholipid Bound Omega 3s
One of the most important findings in our research is the naturally high percentage of phospholipid bound omega 3s. Independent analysis shows that Jervis Bay Blue Mussels contain 68 percent phospholipid bound omega 3s, which supports superior absorption and more effective delivery of EPA and DHA.
Nutrient Density and Protein Quality
Testing also confirms the rich protein content and broad nutrient profile of our mussels. The protein is naturally complete and highly digestible, making it suitable for both dogs and cats as a daily nutritional support.
Comparative Analysis
Our mussels have been directly compared with standard mussel powders, including New Zealand Green Lipped Mussel. The findings show naturally higher levels of bioavailable omega 3s and a stronger overall nutrient density in Jervis Bay Blue Mussels. These differences reflect both species characteristics and the unique marine environment of Jervis Bay.
Sustainable, Local and Traceable
All mussels are produced in the pristine waters of Jervis Bay and processed under strict quality controls. Our production is zero waste, with both mussel meat and shell utilised. We work with accredited facilities that meet Australian food safety and aquaculture standards to ensure consistency and purity in every batch.
Ongoing Quality Assurance
We continue to work with researchers and industry partners to refine our data and maintain a high standard of product integrity. As more research becomes available, we will update our testing summaries so that customers always have clear and current information about what is in their pet’s bowl.
This commitment to transparency and ongoing testing is at the heart of Marine Vitality. We want you to feel confident that every serve of Jervis Bay Mussel Powder is grounded in real science and produced with care.

They love this product, even the one fussy fellow is a reverse cycle bilge pump when this is sprinkled on previously refused tucker.
We have noticed a significant difference in our 8 yr old Rottweiler. Hes gone from not wanting to walk far to being able to do quite a decent beach walk. Definitely recommend this product 👌
We noticed Tito was limping on one of his back legs, and our vet recommended supplements. Luckily, we found this amazing brand! After using three containers, the improvement was incredible. Tito is now running around just like he used to, and seeing him happy and active again gives us such peace of mind. We’ve just received our second order, and I really wanted to share our experience so more families know that effective, affordable supplements are out there. We’re so grateful to have found this product. Seeing Tito enjoying life again means everything to us! ❤️🐾
Loving the mussel powder! shiny soft coats & energetic babies :) our boy shepherd had a acl replacement 2 months ago and is going very well in his recovery, sprinkle on food for all of them, & they lick their bowel’s clean :)
The chooks had some traditional shell grit, which they weren’t that interested in, however when I introduced the True Grit they readily pick at it.
My girls are loving the grit!
I have tried lots of things for my hens soft shelled eggs and not really had any improvements till I gave marine vitality a go. I am extremely happy with this product. Eggs now have nice hard shells.

My little Pablo who is a chihuahua who I adopted 15 months ago came from a family who fed him cat food🥺he has been now on the marine vitality and it has helped him with his coat and his mobility 😊
The girls love this when occasionally mixed with their calcium treat blend mix. I leave the bowl just with the shell grit in their run so they can have some whenever they need.

This is my first re order of the product. My frenchie is 1 year old now and her energy levels are 💯 Her eyes are clear, her coat soft and shiny, but most of all her muscle definition is obvious, and there is no sign of stress on her legs. I purchased an extra tub for my friends staffi who is 8 years old and has been struggling with his legs. I’m looking forward to seeing how he responds to the product
We have added True Grit Shell Grit to our chookies food and they just love the combination. Our chickens say its a winner!
My two dogs are on there 3rd tin. They are full of beans, happy and healthy. Their fur is extra soft, especially Bonnie's, (schnauzer) which is usually corse hair dog. Love the stuff.
The daxies love the taste when I sprinkle it over their food. They have a lovely shiny coat and are very energetic
We bought the traditional white shell mix and there was some improvement in the egg quality but you can tell the chicken weren’t keen. Swapped it out and you would think I had put a bowl of black sunflower seeds out. The eggs & hens have all levelled up! Great product.
Tried marine vitality for my 2 older dogs, was happy with how it’s helped my dogs, the eldest had a full blood check recently for being over 8, with great results all round, so I will keep them on this wonderful addition to their meals!
Keeva the Koolie is loving her Vitality! She can play & run now keeping up with the younger dogs without coming up lame. She is not shedding hair now & her coat is beautiful & shiny. Thank you to this wonderful Australian product 🙏
This is the 2nd time we have ordered this product. Our 4 legged fur baby Bear absolutely loves the taste. No trouble with eating it. Just mix with his night food. We thought at first it wasn't doing anything for him, but once 1st order finished and had to wait a few days for 2nd order, as we weren't going to re order, he started to go backwards with his walking. So it was definitely doing something for his hips and legs. Will keep him on it, as it is helping his traction on our floor boards at home also. Just loves life at the beach, when ever we get there on our holidays, as we love to travel with him. Bear is an English Staffy and over 13 years old now. Just wanted to give him a better quality of life in his old age. Highly recommend this product.
Marine Vitality are an essential Australian based pet supplement company that have honest integrity. They care for preventive treatment to help pets in later stages of health and strength as they get older. Have found this supplement very good. Highly recommend 👌
Ivy wasn’t put off by the fish smell at all. Still devours everything put in front of her.
mum,dad and a pup
Having a Labrador x cocker spaniel, he's a huge food lover, he absolutely loves the green mussel topper and licks the bowl multiple times after each meal. His coat has always been shiny but we've noticed it is now so soft after just a few days. Love this.
Bowl is empty. Tex eats all his dinner. I will buy the kilo bag next time.
Fantastic, our ferrets love it, farm cats like it & guard dogs enjoy it. So easy to spread onto their food !
It's wonderful, the colour lets me see if it's being eaten.

Product & Nutrition
Jervis Bay Mussel Powder is a single-ingredient, whole-food supplement made from 100% Australian blue mussel meat. It provides naturally occurring omega-3 fatty acids, phospholipids, protein and marine amino acids to support overall wellbeing as part of a balanced diet.
We use Australian blue mussels sustainably grown in Jervis Bay, NSW. Our mussels are grown, harvested and processed locally, giving us full traceability from sea to bowl.
Australian blue mussels are a highly nutritious marine food, naturally rich in omega-3s, phospholipids, protein and marine amino acids.
Independent research has shown Australian blue mussels to be comparable, and in some areas nutritionally superior to green-lipped mussels, particularly in phospholipid content, which supports bioavailability. Local sourcing also allows greater control over freshness and quality.
Jervis Bay Mussel Powder is a whole-food powder, not an extract. The mussels are gently processed and milled without isolating or concentrating individual compounds. Nutrients remain in their natural food matrix, supporting gentle digestion and long-term use.
Bioavailability refers to how easily nutrients are absorbed and used by the body. In whole marine foods like mussels, omega-3s are naturally bound to phospholipids, which can support absorption compared to isolated oils. This makes whole-food marine nutrition a food-first option for everyday use.
No. Jervis Bay Mussel Powder is a supplementary whole food designed to be added to your pet’s existing diet. It does not replace complete pet food.
Yes. Jervis Bay Mussel Powder is designed to complement a wide range of feeding styles, including raw, home-cooked, fresh and premium commercial diets.
No. The product contains one ingredient only: whole Australian blue mussel meat.
Our mussels are grown in the clean, nutrient-rich waters of Jervis Bay and produced in accordance with Australian food safety standards. Independent testing has shown levels to be within safe limits.
As a whole-food product, nutrient levels can naturally vary between harvests and seasons. Rather than isolating or standardising individual compounds, we focus on consistent quality, sourcing and processing so nutrients remain in their natural food form.
Our zero-waste aquaculture model means every part of the mussel harvest is valued and utilised. This supports sustainability while allowing us to maintain freshness, reduce unnecessary processing and keep full control over quality.
